Thousands Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, nearly one thousand residents in the southern state also experienced energy failures after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled 598 emergency reports across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

- Wyndham area - 179 emergency requests
At one point on yesterday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across different parts of both areas.

Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
